Two Saturdays ago, Cornell and I spent most of the day working on putting together the rest of the nursery furniture and removing all the office-related items in that room. Thought you might like to see how it's coming along. I really like how the dark furniture looks - not too dark, but not too light. The crib was the hardest piece to put together (you know, matching up all those legs and holes correctly). It goes well with the wall color since we aren't planning to paint, but I have something else up my sleeve for a girlie
wall treatment. I think it will turn out nicely - especially when the bedding is all done. So, now we have a dedicated nursery, which feels great! We've decided to modify the downstairs guestroom into a "den" so we can still entertain visitors, but they have to deal with a desk and a few other items in the room. No biggie. We considered other names for this room, such as the "boutique room" or the "broffice." What do you think?

Cornell won a power screwdriver in a recent golf tournament and it has come in handy. He says it's the best tool he owns and has saved his hands, given all the honey-do furniture projects he's had lately.

Putting the crib together - that's a hex wrench in Cornell's mouth. Don't I look happy?

Crib and bookshelf (shelves aren't in it at this point) and dresser is on the other wall. We've rearranged it since this photo and put the crib diagonally in the corner from the dresser to the window, but you get the general idea. A chair will go where the crib is seen in this photo.
