Nursery is finished

Okay, it took a while... but Cornell and I finally got all the stuff tucked away from the baby showers. Cornell would like to report that our baby girl already has 28+ pairs of socks. I think he's almost more excited to have her here than I am... I keep reminding him that we may have another week or two to test our patience, but it's so hard. We were able to put the finishing touches on the nursery decorations this past week. The vinyl butterflies are on the walls to match the girl swinging in the tree, the bedding is on the crib (even the mattress pad) and the curtain and wall hangings are hung. We love it! I hope you enjoy these pictures we snapped. Really, there's only one thing left to do. You may notice something draped over the back of the chair (we call it our bouncer)... those are the panels for a pillow that I just need to sew together and stuff. Maybe this weekend... Oh, and I have to set up and figure out how to work those diaper pails.

We also bought a pack n' play with a bassinet and napper to keep in our room while she's really small and we're all getting used to life together. Just two more weeks from today is our due date! Dr. Smith says that he would like to induce me on Sunday, Nov. 8 if I haven't already had her by then. We like this idea since our anniversary is the 10th. We can celebrate by taking her home! He doesn't think we should go much longer since I measured 40 cm at my appointment this past Tuesday. She's going to be a healthy size. The ultrasound measurements we had on Oct. 13th estimate her at 7.5 lbs, give or take a pound. I hope she's not too big or heaven help me! I'm so uncomfortable that I'm really looking forward to any sign of pre-labor. Nothing so far except my latest pregnancy symptom is a wierd tingly, almost numb feeling in my arms, hands, and fingers. They say it's from the swelling... that's all for now.

Carrie....I love, love, LOVE your nursery!!! You and Cornell did a nice job. I especially like the girl on the swing, it adds a unique, nostologic touch.

Carrie, your nursery is darling. And, you look great. Fun to see the belly pics! Hang in there the next two weeks and best of luck. Take good care - hopefully I'll get to meet baby girl sometime! Love, Christina
